Our Terms of Service
Last Updated: September 2026
1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Trustify marketplace mobile application (“App”), website, and related services (collectively, “Services”), operated by TRUSTIFY MARKET LIMITED (“Trustify”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
By registering an account, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other policies referenced herein. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
2. Who May Use Trustify
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Services.
You must be located in or a resident of Nigeria, or otherwise permitted by applicable law to enter into this agreement.
If you are registering on behalf of a business entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
Trustify reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate access to any person at any time.
3. Account Registration and Verification
3.1. Registration Process
Account creation requires:
- Full legal name
- Email address
You will receive a 4-digit email verification code (valid for 5 minutes and deleted after successful verification). After email verification, you set your password.
3.2. Account Security
- Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes; plaintext passwords are never stored.
- Authentication uses JWT access tokens (24-hour expiry) and refresh tokens (7-day expiry).
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- Biometric authentication (fingerprint/face) is supported as an alternative login method. The biometric public key and associated device ID are stored in your account record; biometric matching occurs on-device only.
3.3. Profile Information (Optional, Updatable)
After registration you may provide additional profile data, including:
- Phone number
- Profile photo (uploaded to AWS S3 in the eu-north-1 region)
- Physical/pickup address
- Country
3.4. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account at any time via the App. Deletion is initially a soft-delete. Administrators may permanently delete records. Deletion of your account cascades to related data including orders, products, chat messages, KYC sessions, search history, reviews, and deliveries.
4. Identity Verification (KYC)
4.1. Purpose
Trustify uses KYC (Know Your Customer) verification to confirm the identity of users who wish to sell on the platform or access higher transaction limits, in compliance with applicable Nigerian financial regulations.
4.2. KYC Provider
Identity and address verification is processed by QoreID, a third-party identity verification service. By initiating KYC, you consent to QoreID processing your identity data in accordance with their own terms and privacy policy.
4.3. What We Collect for KYC
Depending on the document type chosen, the following data is submitted to QoreID for verification:
| Document Type | Data Submitted |
|---|---|
| NIN (National Identity Number) | ID number, first name, last name, middle name, date of birth, phone, email, gender |
| Voter’s Card | VIN number, first name, last name, date of birth, gender |
| International Passport | Passport number, first name, last name, date of birth, gender |
| Address Verification | Street address, LGA, state, city, nearest landmark, applicant first/last name, phone |
For the SDK-based workflow (e.g., face-matching workflows via QoreID’s mobile SDK), additional data including a selfie/liveness image may be captured and processed by QoreID. This data is processed on QoreID’s infrastructure; Trustify does not store raw biometric images.
4.4. What We Store
Trustify stores:
- KYC event type (identity, address, or workflow), event sub-type, verification status, match status, and the full raw webhook payload received from QoreID
- QoreID session references and session IDs
- An audit log of all KYC status changes (verified/revoked, by webhook or admin action)
- On your user record: whether your identity and address are verified, the type of ID used, and timestamps of verification
4.5. Rate Limiting
Direct identity verification is rate-limited to 3 attempts per hour per user.
4.6. Admin Revocation
An administrator may revoke KYC or address verification status at any time, with a mandatory reason. All such actions are recorded in the KYC audit log.
5. The Escrow Marketplace
5.1. How Trustify Works
Trustify is an escrow-based marketplace. Buyers deposit funds to Trustify, which holds them in escrow until the buyer confirms receipt and satisfaction with the goods or services purchased. Funds are then disbursed to sellers.
5.2. Roles
Users may act as Buyers (purchasing goods/services), Sellers (listing goods/services), or both.
5.3. Products and Listings
Sellers may list products with:
- Product name, description, categories, and images (uploaded to AWS S3)
- Actual price, slashed (discounted) price, negotiation price, and inventory count
5.4. Negotiation
Trustify supports price negotiation between buyers and sellers via the in-app chat system. A negotiation record captures:
- The product, buyer, seller, original price, negotiated price, quantity, and status (
ACTIVE,ACCEPTED,DECLINED,EXPIRED,DISPUTED,CLOSED) - Negotiation messages appear in the chat as offer or negotiation messages
5.5. Orders
Once a buyer proceeds to purchase, an order is created containing:
- Buyer ID, order number, item descriptions, total amount
- Delivery address, receiver name, receiver phone number
- Delivery type (instant or scheduled) and scheduled date/time if applicable
- Payment method (Paystack, Solana, or USDT)
- Order status (
PENDING,PROCESSING,COMPLETED,CANCELLED) and payment status (UNPAID,PARTIALLY_PAID,PAID,REFUNDED)
5.6. Payment Methods
Trustify supports the following payment methods:
- Paystack — card and bank payments processed entirely by Paystack. Trustify does not collect, transmit, or store any card number, expiry date, or CVV at any point — all card data is entered directly into Paystack’s own secure checkout and handled solely under Paystack’s PCI-DSS-compliant infrastructure. Webhook callbacks from Paystack are validated using HMAC signature verification before Trustify records a transaction as paid.
- Solana (SOL/USDT) — cryptocurrency payments verified on-chain against the platform’s designated Solana receiving wallet.
5.7. Disbursement to Sellers
Upon buyer confirmation of delivery, Trustify initiates a disbursement to the seller’s registered bank account. Disbursement records include: order ID, seller ID, amount (in Naira/NGN by default), currency, status (PENDING, PROCESSING, COMPLETED, FAILED, CANCELLED), transfer code, and failure reason if applicable. Failed disbursements are eligible for retry.
5.8. Buyer Confirmation
Buyers must explicitly confirm receipt of goods. Seller shipping is tracked via a shipped status, tracking number, and shipping provider.
6. Withdrawal Accounts
6.1. Bank Accounts for Withdrawals
Sellers may register Nigerian bank accounts for receiving disbursements. The following data is stored:
- Account number, account name, bank code, bank name, account type (savings, current, fixed)
- Bank details are verified using an external bank verification service (NUBs API)
7. Chat and Communications
Trustify provides an in-app messaging system between buyers and sellers to facilitate negotiations and order discussions.
Messages may be of type: text, offer, negotiation, or agreement. All messages, offered prices, and read receipts are stored in the database permanently unless your account is deleted.
Push notifications for chat messages, order updates, and promotions are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Device tokens (Android/iOS/web) are stored to enable push delivery. You may adjust notification preferences within the App.
You must not use the chat system to engage in fraud, harassment, abuse, or any unlawful activity. Trustify may review chat messages in the course of investigating reports or disputes.
8. Disputes and Reports
8.1. Reporting Users
Any authenticated user may file a report against another user. A report captures:
- Reporter’s ID and reported user’s ID
- Associated negotiation ID, order ID, or transaction ID (where applicable)
- Reason (free-text) and optional additional details
- Status:
PENDING→UNDER_REVIEW→RESOLVEDorDISMISSED - Admin notes, resolving admin ID, resolution timestamp
- Audit log entries recording actions taken on the report
8.2. Dispute Resolution
Trustify administrators review all reports. During the review period, funds in escrow may be held pending resolution. Trustify’s decision on disputes is final in relation to the release or refund of escrowed funds. Trustify is not liable for any loss arising from its dispute-resolution decisions made in good faith.
8.3. Negotiation Disputes
A negotiation may be placed in DISPUTED status, whereupon it is escalated to admin review.
8.4. No Guarantee of Outcome
Trustify facilitates dispute resolution but does not guarantee any particular outcome. You are encouraged to keep evidence of transactions, communications, and agreements within the App.
9. Seller Obligations
By listing a product, you warrant that:
- You have legal title or authority to sell the item.
- The product description, images, and price are accurate and not misleading.
- The product is legal to sell in Nigeria and is not a prohibited item (see Section 11).
You must fulfil orders within any agreed timeframe and mark shipments accurately.
Trustify reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these Terms, applicable law, or Trustify’s community standards.
10. Buyer Obligations
By placing an order, you confirm intent to purchase and commit to:
- Providing accurate delivery information (receiver name, phone, address).

- Not abusing buyer-protection or dispute mechanisms fraudulently.
11. Prohibited Uses
You must not use Trustify to:
- List or sell counterfeit, stolen, or infringing goods
- List or sell illegal drugs, weapons, or prohibited substances
- Engage in money laundering or fraudulent transactions
- Harass, abuse, or defame other users
- Circumvent the escrow mechanism (e.g., by requesting off-platform payment)

- Create multiple accounts to evade suspension
12. Fees and Charges

13. Reviews and Ratings

14. Intellectual Property
The Trustify name, logo, and all platform content created by Trustify are the intellectual property of TRUSTIFY MARKET LIMITED.

Trustify’s total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the total amount of fees paid by you to Trustify in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Trustify is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of goods listed by sellers, nor for the accuracy of product descriptions.
Trustify is not responsible for losses arising from network downtime, payment processor outages (Paystack, Solana network), or force majeure events.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Trustify, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, and costs (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) goods or services you sell through the platform; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.
17. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time via the in-app account deletion feature.
Trustify may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if required by law.
Upon termination, any funds held in escrow for pending orders will be handled in accordance with the dispute/refund procedures then in effect.
18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute shall be referred to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Cap. A18, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 (or its successor legislation).
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or emergency relief from a Nigerian court of competent jurisdiction.
19. Changes to These Terms
